COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, is a progressive disease that makes it hard to breathe. Progressive means the disease gets worse over time. This disease can cause coughing that produces large amounts of mucus as well as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and other symptoms.
If you have been diagnosed with COPD, we encourage you to view our COPD Action Plan and find out how you can better manage your condition instead of it managing you.
The COPD Action Plan was created to help people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) follow treatment, stay alert to signs and symptoms, and take timely actions to address problems. If you have COPD, you can complete the action plan with your healthcare provider and bring it to appointments. You can also post the action plan somewhere you can easily see it easily and use it to monitor your symptoms daily.
