The Baylor Scott & White Best Care Committee strives to improve the quality of patient care by monitoring the development and implementation of quality improvement projects developed at every level of the organization. All new initiatives presented to the Best Care committee are reviewed against a checklist of how well the initiative will meet Baylor Scott & White Health STEEEP (safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered) standards. The Best Care Committee uses STEEEP standards as their guide when engaging in quality improvement initiatives.
The goals of the Best Care Committee are:
- To provide physicians with reliable data which enables them to identify best practice and opportunities for improvement
- To implement evidence-based system-wide standards of care
- To enhance and extend physician relationships
- To advance clinical care through education, research, and new collaborative clinical ventures
